GENERAL POLICIES

General Terms

  • Car Pick-up: The hirer must provide an original ID or passport, a valid driving license, and a credit/debit card for the rental payment and the guarantee amount.
  • Driving License: The hirer must have held a valid driving license for at least 3 years and be valid for 30 days after the pick-up date. Licenses in non-English, Latin, or Roman alphabets must be accompanied by a valid International Driving Permit (IDP).
  • Age Requirements: Drivers must be between 25 and 80 years old. Drivers aged 21-24 and 70-80 will incur surcharges. Drivers under 21 may still be insured under certain conditions.
  • Unauthorized Drivers: Drivers with certain convictions or driving disqualifications may be denied rental.

Payment Policy

  • Payment Methods: Payments can be made via cash, cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.), and bank transfers (at least 5 working days prior to the pick-up date).
  • Currency: All payments must be made in Euros.
  • Guarantee Amount: Pre-authorized amounts on the hirer’s card act as a guarantee amount, covering potential damages or additional charges that occurred during the rental period.

Fleet Availability and Changes

  • Vehicle Categories: Reservations are confirmed for a vehicle category and model. However, Ways2go reserves the right to provide an equivalent or higher-category vehicle if necessary.
  • Upgrades and Downgrades: The hirer may request to upgrade or downgrade the vehicle category before or during the rental period, subject to availability and inspection of the currently rented vehicle. Any difference in price must be settled in advance, or a refund will be provided.

Fees and Charges

  • Rental Extensions: The hirer may extend the rental by contacting the company in advance. Availability must be confirmed, and additional payment is required before the new agreement is signed.
  • Rental Reductions: If the hirer returns the vehicle early, a new agreement will be created, and the difference in price will be refunded.
  • Late Returns: A 59-minute grace period is allowed for late returns. Beyond this period, additional charges will apply.
  • One-way Rentals: Ways2go Car Rental Ltd can accommodate one-way rental requests (different pick-up and drop-off locations) depending on staff availability. This requires prior written approval via Email or Viber/WhatsApp, along with an additional charge. If changes are made after confirmation, an extra fee may apply.

Pick-up and Drop-off

  • Pick-up/Drop-off Locations: Free at specified locations. An additional fee of €25 applies for services outside working hours (10 am to 10 pm).

Insurance and Liability

  • Pre-authorization Information: A pre-authorized amount will be blocked on (not debited) from the main driver’s card as a guarantee. This guaranteed amount includes the excess or the deposit amounts based on the insurance option chosen by the hirer. The pre-authorized amount (excess or deposit) will be fully refunded at the end of the rental period, provided no damage or additional charges arise. In the event of a collision/accident/incident, if it is determined by the police or insurance that the collision/accident/incident is not the hirer’s responsibility, no pre-authorized amount will be charged.
  • Insurance Options:
    • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): Included in the daily rental price and limits the hirer’s liability for damage to the rented vehicle to certain amounts, provided that the Traffic Laws of the Republic of Cyprus are not violated.
    • Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW): Reduces the hirer’s liability for damage to the rented vehicle further by 50%, provided that the Traffic Laws of the Republic of Cyprus are not violated.
    • Full Comprehensive Insurance (FCI): Offers zero liability in the event of collision/accident/incident with another vehicle and includes Theft Protection (TP) of the rented vehicle, provided that the Traffic Laws of the Republic of Cyprus are not violated. However, a minimum deposit will be required in case the driver violates the insurance terms. This deposit will be refunded immediately in the same form once the rental period is complete provided no additional charges arise.
  • Windscreen, Tyres, and Keys Protection: Available at an additional cost and reduce to zero the hirer’s liability for damage to the car’s windscreen, tyres, and keys.
  • Theft Protection: Available at an additional cost and reducing to zero the hirer’s liability for theft. Please note Theft Protection (TP) is included free of charge with our Full Comprehensive Insurance.
  • Insurance Exclusions: No coverage for driving into occupied northern part of Cyprus, driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances, driving on non-paved roads, if the vehicle is intentionally damaged, or if the traffic regulations are not followed, car keys are totally damaged, an unauthorized person is driving the car, as well as in cases of the hirer’s negligence/abuse, or unreported accidents or theft of the rental car.

Breakdowns & Accidents

  • Breakdowns: In case of a breakdown, we will provide immediate technical support and, if necessary, send a replacement car team by calling +357 99 180 777.
  • Accidents: In case of a collision/accident/incident under no circumstances should the vehicle be moved unless instructed by a police officer. Should you move the vehicle the insurance will become invalid, and the hirer is liable for all costs. Should another vehicle be involved, the local traffic police must be notified before either vehicle is moved. Also, in case of an accident, the hirer must immediately inform our 24/7 support team by calling +357 99180777 and request advice or assistance.

Additional Services

  • Additional Driver: An additional driver can be added to the rental agreement at any time before or after the contract is signed. An extra fee will apply, depending on the additional driver’s age and the number of days the extra driver will be covered. The additional driver must provide their personal information, such as ID/Passport, and driving license.
  • Additional Equipment: Baby safety seats, toddler safety seats, child safety seats, booster seats, pet car seats are available for a one-time payment, no matter the length of the contract.  Also, all cars come equipped with a mobile phone holder, universal phone charger, universal charging cable, and GPS navigation system.

Driving Policies

  • Driving Restrictions: Driving into the occupied northern part of Cyprus is prohibited. Insurance coverage is not valid, and the hirer will be fully responsible for any accidents, damages, recovery costs, and additional expenses that may arise.
  • Traffic Fines: All fines (speeding, parking, traffic violations) are the renter’s responsibility. Insurance does not cover any fines issued by the police. Any fines resulting from the hirer’s misconduct are the hirer’s responsibility and will be issue under their own name and ID.
  • Mileage policy: Ways2go Car Rental Ltd offers an unlimited mileage policy for all rentals.

Fuel Policy

  • Fuel Level: Must be returned at the same fuel level as provided. Charges apply for missing fuel and a refueling service fee of €20.

Cancellation and No-show Policies

  • Cancellation: Full refund if canceled 48 hours before pick-up. Cancellations 24-48 hours prior receive a 50% refund. No refund for cancellations less than 24 hours before pick-up.
  • No-show: No refund if the vehicle is not collected at the agreed time, the hirer fails to provide the necessary documentation, the hirer fails to present a card with sufficient funds or if the company determines that the driver is not qualified/eligible to drive.

Roadside Assistance

  • 24/7 Assistance: Free roadside assistance is available for breakdowns, towing, flat tyres, lockout emergencies, and more by calling +357 99 180 777.

Vehicle Condition and Return

  • Before the Rental Agreement Starts: Before signing the Rental Agreement, both the renter and a Ways2go Car Rental Ltd representative must inspect and document any existing damage and fuel level. The renter must maintain the car’s condition throughout the rental period, including regular checks (e.g., tire pressure). 
  • Return Condition: Vehicles must be returned in the same condition, free from new damage, excessive dirt, or neglect. Additional charges apply for cleaning or damage. Additionally, if the hirer returns the car outside working hours, they will remain responsible for the rental car until a Ways2go Car Rental Ltd representative inspects the vehicle and confirms it has been returned in its original condition as provided at pick-up.

Miscellaneous

  • Lost Items: Ways2go is not responsible for personal items left in the vehicle. Items found will be stored for up to one year. Also, it is the hirer’s responsibility to contact Ways2go Car Rental Ltd to request the return of the item.
  • No Smoking: A strict no-smoking policy applies, with a €110 cleaning fee for violations.
  • Pets: Pets are allowed but must be in carriers. For added convenience and security, we offer a pet car seat to rent.  However, a €100 cleaning fee applies if the vehicle requires cleaning due to pet hair and/or odors.

Tax and Invoice Policy

  • Taxes: All rates and charges are subject to VAT.
  • Invoices: Tax invoices will be provided only to companies, not individuals.
